Position Overview: R.H. Boyd is seeking a highly skilled and results-driven Inventory Manager to lead the end-to-end management of our inventory and supply chain operations. This role will emphasize inventory accuracy, accountability, and adherence to industry best practices for managing stock levels, replenishment cycles, inventory flow, data entry, and reporting. This position will play a key role in optimizing inventory turnover, minimizing shrinkage, and ensuring seamless collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers and distributors. The Inventory Manager will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that enhance operational efficiency, maintain inventory integrity, and support the company’s overall business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of inventory control, ensuring accurate and timely tracking of stock levels, deliveries, and order fulfillment.
  • Establish and implement best practices for inventory management, including forecasting, replenishment, and stock movement to optimize efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Develop strong partnerships with internal departments, such as Sales, Operations, and Finance, to align inventory levels with business needs and sales forecasts.
  • Maintain clear communication and collaboration with external suppliers and distributors to ensure timely and accurate deliveries, resolving any issues quickly.
  • Conduct regular audits and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and integrity, investigating discrepancies and taking corrective action when necessary.
  • Utilize technology solutions and systems to enhance the accuracy of inventory tracking and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and safety regulations while handling and storing inventory.
  • Monitor key inventory performance metrics (e.g., turnover rates, stock levels) and provide regular reports to senior management, offering data-driven insights and recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost savings, and operational efficiency in inventory and supply chain management.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in vendor and supplier relationship management.
  • Familiarity with warehousing, shipping, and logistics processes.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance standards.
  • Proven experience as an Inventory Manager or similar role, preferably within a distribution, retail, printing, or publishing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management systems, forecasting techniques, and supply chain best practices.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and accountability.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a results-driven mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software, enterprise resource management software, distribution platforms (such as Amazon), and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • At least 3 years in inventory management experience, preferably in a related industry.
