Position Overview: R.H. Boyd is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Director of Development to spearhead fundraising efforts for R.H. Boyd Company, a 501(c)(3) organization, and the Boyd Family Endowment, focusing on expanding our impact through strategic initiatives like The Legacy Ball. This role is pivotal in securing funding to support educational programs, community outreach, and the preservation of cultural heritage. The ideal candidate is a fundraising professional with a proven ability to drive results and is passionate about community empowerment.
Key Responsibilities and Outcomes:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with the mission of R.H. Boyd Company and the Boyd Family Endowment, emphasizing measurable outcomes and sustainable growth.
- Cultivate and steward relationships with major donors, foundations, corporations, and community partners to secure significant financial contributions in support of The Legacy Ball, grants, scholarships, and other key initiatives.
- Identify and pursue new funding opportunities, including grants, sponsorships, and individual donations, achieving ambitious annual revenue targets.
- Plan and oversee the execution of fundraising events, leveraging platforms to maximize donor engagement and support.
- Collaborate closely with the marketing and communications team to create compelling fundraising materials and messages that resonate with our diverse audience.
- Monitor and analyze fundraising performance metrics, utilizing data-driven insights to optimize strategies for donor acquisition, retention, and stewardship.
- Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to development staff and volunteers, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented fundraising culture within the organization.
- Stay informed of industry trends and best practices in nonprofit fundraising, educational programming, and community engagement, integrating innovative approaches into our fundraising initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and accountability.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners to influence and drive positive outcomes.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field; advanced degree or CFRE certification preferred.
- Proven track record of successfully achieving fundraising goals and securing major gifts, with at least 3 years of experience in nonprofit development leadership.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with donors, stakeholders, and community leaders.
- Strategic thinker with excellent project management abilities, capable of prioritizing tasks and driving initiatives to successful completion.
- Knowledge of educational programs and community outreach initiatives, with experience in organizing high-profile events like The Legacy Ball preferred.
- Passion for education, cultural preservation, and community empowerment, with a commitment to advancing the mission of R.H. Boyd Company and the Boyd Family Endowment.
- Proficiency in fundraising and communication software (e.g., Every Action, Mail Chimp) and CRM systems to manage donor relationships and track fundraising progress.
