Lessons for October 2, 9, and 16, 2022

Dr. LaDonna Boyd presents the lessons from the Master Teacher book for October 2, 9, and 16, 2022.

The lesson for October 2 is entitled A Protective Family, and the scriptural reference is Exodus chapter 2. This lesson explores the birth of Moses. Moses’ family went to great lengths to save him. They determined that their future would not be decided by an unjust law.

The lesson for October 9 is entitled Expressing Thankfulness from Deuteronomy chapters 31 and 32. God commands Moses to write a song as a reminder of His position in Israel. After a 40-year period of nomadic life, Moses assembles the people on the plains of Moab for his farewell address and to teach Israel the “Song of Moses.”

The lesson for October 16 is entitled Confidence Provides Necessary Courage, and it focuses on the call of Gideon in Judges 6. Sometimes we feel inadequate to the task that God calls us to complete. How do you overcome feelings of fear and insecurity? In this lesson, Gideon received divine reassurance of God’s continued presence for the task at hand.
