Lessons for May 2023

Dr. LaDonna Boyd presents the lessons for May are collectively entitled “The Birth of the Church.” The May 7 lesson recounts the celebration of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit’s dramatic entrance empowers the dis­ciples to speak in tongues. Peter and John demonstrate the power of the Holy Spirit when they heal a disabled man in the lesson for May 14. The next lesson spotlights the Holy Spirit, who transports Philip to the chariot of the Ethiopian eunuch where he explains the Scriptures. This series concludes with Ananias, who was directed by the Lord himself to minister to his enemy, the newly converted Saul after his encounter with Jesus on the Damascus Road.
