The January lessons are collectively titled “Grace and Reconciliation,” and the four lessons are drawn from the books of 1 John, Luke, Acts, Genesis, Matthew, John, and 2 Peter. Together, these passages teach that God is holy, just, and merciful, calling us to repentance, faith, humility, and obedience, assuring us of forgiveness and guidance through Christ, and urging us to grow continually in grace as we follow Him with steadfast devotion.
Lesson 1: “The Wrong Path.” God is perfectly holy, so we must walk in His light by confessing our sins, receiving Christ’s forgiveness, and living in obedience that reflects our relationship with Him.
Lesson 2: “A Generous and Forgiving Parent.” God joyfully welcomes repentant people back with unconditional love, no matter how far they have strayed. God freely offers forgiveness, the Holy Spirit, and salvation to all who repent and believe in Jesus.
Lesson 3: “A Time to Be Bold; A Time to Be Humble.” We can boldly approach God in prayer, yet always with humility, recognizing His justice and our limitations. God honors humble repentance rather than self-righteous pride. When we pray according to God’s will, we can confidently trust that He hears and responds.
Lesson 4: “If at First You Don’t Succeed, You’re Probably Human.” Jesus calls ordinary people to follow Him and learn a new purpose for their lives. God can reveal profound truth through flawed people and build His church through their faith. Despite our failures, Jesus restores us and invites us to keep serving Him. Believers are called to grow in Christlike maturity, remaining diligent, patient, and anchored in grace.
