On Saturday, June 17, at the Four Seasons Hotel Nashville, R.H. Boyd hosted the second annual Legacy Ball. The concept of Dr. LaDonna Y. Boyd, fifth-generation President/CEO of the R.H. Boyd family of companies, this annual black-tie affair benefits the R.H. Boyd Family Endowment Fund through R.H. Boyd Company, a 501 (c)(3) organization, which provides scholarships and grants to university students and community organizations.
Since 1981, the R.H. Boyd Family Endowment Fund has given more than $500,000 in scholarships to students across the United States, helped numerous non-profit organizations further their missions, and given oversight to the Historic Boyd House renovation on the campus of Fisk University as it is converted to academic spaces for students.
“This company was founded by my great-great grandfather during a time when education was illegal for African Americans. We count it an honor to be able to offer scholarships to minority students who are seeking to advance themselves and the world around them,” said Dr. Boyd. “We know that this would not be possible without our community and humbly thank and celebrate them for their continued support of our mission, our work, and ultimately the students and organizations that we assist.”
The Legacy Ball was an evening filled with fine dining, fellowship with local and national leaders, live music, dancing, and more. Additionally, recipients of the R.H. Boyd Humanitarian, Service, and Excellence awards were recognized as well as recipients of endowment fund scholarships and grants.
Thank you to our numerous sponsors, donors, and attendees that helped make this night a sold-out success. If you would like to partner with us for the 2024 Legacy Ball, please contact events@rhboyd.com.
